good 360 splitscreen/system link games?

ok, so a friend of mine that plays COD4 and other games with me on my 360 finally got one for Xmas, but he isn't going to be able to get Live for a while probably.

i was wondering what some good games are to get that we can play either splitscreen or through system link. system link preferred.

we both mainly play shooters, like COD4 and R6V. i own halo 3, but we both do not play it. wish i never would've bought it.

let me hear of some good games guys!

I played the original Halo via split screen with my brother. We managed to get through it but IMO there is just too much going on for split screen.

My favorite coop game is Rainbow 6: Vegas. I would highly recommend doing that over XBox Live since it's one of the best FPS and has coop XBL capability (sadly a rare combo these days). 🙁

Does your friend know that with a new 360 he gets 1 free month of XBL Gold?

I could assume that his problem is actually with something else, but I figure I should state the obvious just in case. 🙂

heh, knowing him, probably not 😛

but you assumed right. at the moment, he doesn't have broadband.

We do this a lot at my friends house trying to figure out which ones support system link, gears of war supports 2 per box up to 4 boxes, halo3 supports 4 per box up to 4 boxes i beleive. COD3 also supports 4 per box up to 4 boxes, haven't tried COD4 with it yet. Lots of games support system link it's just most only allow 1 per box which kind of defeats the purpose of having a xbox party over at your house sorta thing. Halo and Halo2 still are the best for systemlink though but it gets crazy laggy when you have grenades flying everywhere.

PGR4 is a good one for system link too. I know its a racing game, but it's a blast to play. Supports 2 players on each console. You can even race on XBL with a "guest".

Any one else with suggestions?

yeah, told him to pick up COD3 as i've got it already. that's how i got him into COD and away from halo, lol.

keep them coming!
