looking at JVC's , panasonics and one more i cant remeber it starts with M though

was looking to spend around 300.00 jvc's got a nice one with DVD and audio, i am also going to run my computrers dvd player through it

I like JVC TVs a lot. If I have a choice I always buy JVC over any other brand. If you compared 5 year old JVCs next to 5 year old Panaflats or Sonys, it's really amazing how much better the JVC is over time. I own part of a bar and TVs are on all the time, so things like that become apparent much quicker than normal.

Two year old?

I have a ten year old Sony 32" XBR that still looks as good as it did when I bought it.

you cant go wrong with Sony WEGA TVs
we have a 20" in my bed room it is great!!
the 27" are a little expensive you can get the Panasonic version a little cheaper i think
those are pretty good to
and the Panasonics are actually Made In Japan!!!

I have a 6-year-old 27" Sony Trinitron that still beats most new TV's on the market today. When it comes to TVs, Sony is tops in my book.

i bought a 27" philips about 2 weeks ago. Not sure of the number but it was $350 at best buy. Its got picture-in-picture (only one tuner though) and S-video & component. The picture is very good and I'm pleased with it. 27" wegas were far too expensive.

My parent's ~21 year old Sony TV that has huge speakers attached on the sides and has a glass top (the TV is about 5 feet long and 3-4 feet high.. it's a piece of furniture!) is still working. Sony makes good TVs.

Certainly depends on your budget

Bottom line,

If funds are limited I would say Samsung is the champ 🙂

Many, many features at a rock bottom price plus 3 year warranty (in Canada anyway)

Sony does make NICE Tv's, but I have a 32inch Toshiba that is 5 years old (bought new), and man, going from my Pioneer dv-525 dvd player through a monster video 2 s-video cable.....it's NICE 🙂
fricken sharp too.....I love it 🙂

$300 is a pretty tight budget for a good 27". 🙁

Personally, I love my Wega 27FS12 + Panasonic RV31S combination. Using component video & the 16:9 enhancement it looks pretty damned good.

I was lucky, I picked up my Wega used for $400 (new they're currently $550 @ Best Buy), so between the TV & DVD player I only have $565 tied up.
