Good 2.1 Speaker set for under $50?

I'm looking for some temporary speakers for the new rig I built while I'm home this summer. I want to spend under $50, but I don't want the quality to suck ass either. I have a SB Live! sound card, and its important that it has a headphone port. I was looking around at Newegg and the Logitech Z-340 caught my eye. Can I get some recommendations? I usually just listen to MP3s and MIDI files, and play games a little but I'm definitely not an audiophile. Thanks.

Another vote for the Altec Lansing ATP3. You don't need a headphone port with an SB Live sound card. That sound card will pump more than enough power to the headphones so just go and set up in windows sound for surround sound setup. Plug your headphones to the front output and your speakers to the rear.

sorry to point you to a dead hot deal but these are great speakers and you can often find them for cheap at staples, office max, or depot. got mine for $20ish 1 1/2 yrs ago and they've been working great.

speaker deals pop up for great prices time to time...

I cashed in on the 24.95 ATA880's at dell 2 christmas's ago and got ata885's...both are worth $300 retail and are very nice.

hi,
i think that you'd be pretty happy with the z340s. they are a great little speaker system for the price. i usually get them for the builds that i do for all but the most hardcore ht/gamers.
good luck

I saw them at Staples for $29.95 (after $40-50 rebate) this week. I guess they have an overstock of them at this time.
