Good 12V air compressor to inflate car tires?

I have a little one like that (different model, different company) and it works just fine. Takes forever to inflate anything (I'd guestimate that it would take 20-30 minutes to inflate a 50PSI temporary spare from completely flat) but it does work.

Those things are emergency use only (mine lives with the spare tire in my trunk, it tucks neatly into the little well along with my jumper cables and a couple quarts of oil). If you're looking for something to use regularly, get a little 4 gallon compressor to keep in your garage. Make sure to get an oil-lubed compressor, the oil-free models are louder and don't last nearly as long. The convenience isn't worth it.

I have this one, although I bought mine at the local KMart. It has no problem getting my truck and trailer tires up to 50 psi. I've never had to inflate a flat though, just topping off, so I don't know how long it would take. I do know that it takes about 3 minutes to get from 35 to 50 psi.
