Definitely local. It shows that you put a little more time and thought into it.

I used to send flowers to my SO's mother and sister, because I just enjoyed seeing their faces light up like a kid at Christmas. It's nice to make the day brighter for someone, but when it's someone close to you, and when it's a woman it's all the better.
