Gonna buy a depth/fish finder need help

Hey am looking to buy a depth/fish finder I am looking to spend around $100-$150 I know I can't get the best but want something that has decent display. I know nothing about them please help.

I was offered a Eagle Fisheasy for $108 is that a good deal? Is it a good one?

Not sure what to tell you, $100-150 is a really low price point. I can never get over the prices they charge for boating gear, unbelieveable. For that kind of price I doubt you'll find much difference, maybe try to get something used?

I like both Eagle and Hummingbird for fish/depth finders. Of course the ones I use are about 10 and 15 years old respectivly, I don't know what modern ones are like.

Why not get some depth charges to go with it so you won't need any skill at all? Why do you fish? You can watch fishing shows on TV and smear fish paste on bread.

Heh this is a very busy forum. Anyway I'm in KY.

Well I don't need a state of the art depth/fish finder I just need something that will get the job done. I ain't gonna go out and blow $300+ for some thing with more features then I will ever need.

So how is the Eagle Fisheasy does it blow donky dong or is it worth it for the $108?

BTW the Fisheasy is on clearance at Wal-Mart so I don't know what the retail price for it was.

I am fond of Lowrance electronics. I run an x-85 and a Global map 2000. These are big bank$$$ though and useful for big water (I live off of lake Michigan and regularly fish Littl Bay De Noc and other big water). I primarily fish for walleye and high performance electronics are pretty important to locating these schooling fish holding tight to the bottom or suspended.

Eagle is the budget line from Lowrance. Yeah that fisheasy looks like it would do just fine for the money. You won't be able to see fish tight to the bottom as easy as the x-85, but it should do.

The whole selection is here

What kind of fishing do you do?
