So I watched the movie Gomorrah last night; it's an Italian movie about mob corruption in the Naples region. Being Italian, and enjoying movies of this nature I decided to give it a shot. RT gave it a nearly 90% rating. I have to say after watching it that I was disappointed.

The movie itself feels like Traffic in a way, which wouldn't normally be a bad thing. The problem I had with it was that there didn't really seem to be a main plot; there was the theme of mob corruption, but no central plot. There was a side story about a man working for a tailor, a story of a couple young kids trying to start their own mob, a kid joining one of the crime groups. This worked in Crash since they all ended up intertwining, with Gomorrah they never really tie together. It also didn't really feel like the movie had a point; that probably comes from the lack of a central story. It commented on the mob ruining parts of Naples and Caserta, but didn't really do anything special.

If you've seen Traffic, and like movies with some sort of strong central plot, I wouldn't recommend this movie.

Watched 15 minutes of it, the kids were annoying and a bit too touchy. No thanks

lol I noticed that too. My gf kept saying 'it's ok....they're European...no homo'

Aww damn 🙁. I was really looking forward to watching this after I caught the preview on apple.com/trailers. The trailers make it look awesome. doh 🙁

well it wasn't terrible. I wouldn't walk out on it if I saw it in a theater. Just not as good as I had hoped.
