<< The Golem@Home Project is a screensaver aimed at harnessing idle CPU power across the Internet to perform massively distributed evolutionary computation. By installing this software you are volunteering your computer to participate in this distributed AI experiment. Get it here.

It should work well with RC5. As it only runs as a screen saver, they can trade off using the CPU.

"Would not go away"? Did you try both the mouse and the keyboard? Did you have to reboot the machine or something? 🙁

whats the point?
All the other DC projects have a point, i.e. encryption, searching for little green guys, protein folding energies, etc
but does this?

i mean its pretty kewl and all, but unless theres something thats being benefitted(sp?) or solved i really dont see the point when I could be using those cycle for rc5 and seti. just imho

imhotepmp

Well, it's something different to try out. I got a few machines to play with so Fred gets some different projects occasionally. There's a message board here, if anyones interested. Someone even came up with a file to make it run continually..
