Ok this is the story, I just tried to install the Goldengate cooler, which is the exact same as the OCZ Gladiator, except the power cord goes into mobo connector instead of 4 pin molex connector. First of all, this happened:

- The holding pin which holds the cooling heatsink to processor is so freakin stiff, it barely makes the holding bracket, and as soon as it did hold, it totally broke off the opposite bracket! So now there is no way I can hold a heatsink to my Socket 370 on my mobo. Good thing my mobo happens to be one of the few combo mobos ont he market with slot 1 also, so now I am forced to use the slot via slotket. Anyways, is there a way to make this holding pin even 1 mm looser?? I am getting coper shin, but dont think that will help.

- When i connected the fan to the mobo fan connector, totally blew it out! Now I cant even use it for my old fan! I am using a spare fan connector on my mobo, does anyone know how to convert the 3 pin mobo power conenctor to 4 pin power supply connector? Thanks!

Don't believe that heatsink is designed for Socket 370. If you check SVC's pages for both Socket A and Socket 370, you'll notice that the Golden Gate isn't listed under the Socket 370 heatsinks. I think you may have (unfortunately) found out why.

When i connected the fan to the mobo fan connector, totally blew it out

Did you get the Golden Gate with the Delta 38CFM pre-attached? If so, that fan draws too much power for most system boards' fan headers, except the Abit KT7s and I've heard the Epox 8K7A. Like you've found, the Delta can blow the fan header. You can get 3-to-4 pin adapters at most heatsink vendors for $1-2.

Good luck.
