Goldeneye Wii; anyone tried it yet?

Really interested in this game and it seems to have gotten decent reviews. Has anyone tried this game out yet? Is it a sequel to the original or a remake? Whats the controller like on the Wii, do you have to use the motion sensor?

Find someone who has it first to play it there, then make your decision. My opinion... Nintendo screwed this one up completely.

Even with the classic controller pro, I feel the control scheme to be lacking. In all reality, they should have released a replica of the N64 controller to use. I can't speak on using a Wii remote and nunchuck because I don't feel I'm versed in playing enough games to use it.

The graphics... don't get me started. Yes I completely understand that the game came out 13 years ago. I'd like to also include that my Wii is hooked up via component cables at 480p. I seriously believe that the graphics on the N64 version are a hell of a lot better even though I can't directly compare.

All in all, don't want to be disappointed? Go out and buy a N64 to play Goldeneye the way it should be.

IMO it's more that the game itself hasn't aged well at all. A bunch of friends fired up an N64 to play it recently, and we didn't find it very fun like we used to. The console shooter has just been refined so much to this point that clunky controls and an arguably awkward controller highlights the flaws the game had that we never thought about when we first played it. Things advance and change for a reason, and when you take away all the improvements in the industry you're left with something that feels awkward and wrong.

Personally they should have changed the game a bit to bring the controls in line with current gen standards. Yes it wouldn't be "true" goldeneye, but AFAIC true goldeneye will never be as fun as it was back then when we didn't know any better.

Wii > N64 version by far and away from what I've seen

I've played through 2 levels of it so far and I am really loving it. I am using the wiimote/nunchuck control scheme (I see it as a strength for FPS's on the Wii). I had to do some tweaking and some questions on various forums. But this is the best I've seen:

Go to the Wii's controller settings on the GoldenEye menu, and click Customize.
Go into cursor settings and do the following;

1.Set the deadzone to 15 above, 35 across.
2.Set the maximum turn to 100 (which is default)
3.Set the horizontal speed to 30
4.Set the verticle speed to 9
5.Set the cursor sensitivity to MAXIMUM.

Now go into the ADS options, and do the following;

1.Set the deadzone to 17 above, 17 across.
2.Set the maximum turn to 90 above, 90 across.
3.Set the horizontal speed to 20
4.Set the verticle speed to 10
5.Set the cursor sensitivity to MAXIMUM.

Now exit those options, and set the camera to; Wii Remote Turning, and turn 'Look' OFF. Have the Auto re-centre and Turn while cursor off-screen settings ON
