Gold CD-R media. Any legitimacy to the extended life???

Just curious if anybody really knows.........(I guess we'll know in 100 years, for sure eh??)

My guess? It buy's another 2 years of shelf life, just due to gold being a noble metal and all.

Kodak used to make gold CDRs. They had a reputation for being top-notch media. I bet it does extend the life, but I doubt to 100 years.

Though according to them...
