r7s

I can play it with a paper and pencil.

Seriously, I want to try the game also, but am unwilling to pay full price since I am only interested in single player. Actually the first Black Ops was poorly optimized for PC and I had severe stuttering on my old computer with an E4500 and 9800GT. It will be interesting to see if the new game is better optimized, but I have new computer so direct comparison will be difficult.

Edit: OP, if you are planning on playing the game on your IGP, I doubt it will be a very satisfactory experience. Pretty sure you cant run in on 1220p at any kind of reasonable IQ settings.

First black ups was very CPU heavy but ran perfectly fine if you had a decent quad core pushing it.

I would get this card personally:

EVGA 02G-P4-2663-KR GeForce GTX 660 FTW Signature 2 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

A very highly overclocked card that only uses a single 6-pin power connector. Dual-fans should run very quiet and cool.

For $229 + ship you'll be able to play any game paired with that 2600K.

Probably true, but at the time before the numerous patches, I did see a lot of anecdotal comments about stuttering even on higher end systems.

My new comp has an i5, so I have considered re-installing, but honestly the game was OK, but not one that I would care to play again. Being a Treyarch game perhaps BO2 will come down in price sooner than the MW series. I would like to get it, but I have played enough COD games that I will not pay full price for another one. Actually, probably the only games I will pay full price for anymore are strategy or RPGs, especially RPGs that give many hours of gameplay. And maybe the next Starcraft installment.

To play black ops 2 at 1440p max with 4x msaa with 60+ fps you will need a 7870/660 class gpu.

For 1080p without AA that would probably come down a 6850/560.

But you will still need a core I series quad with a decent gpu.

Don't hold your breath, BO2 is getting the best user reviews since COD4 and I'd have to agree. The visuals are a significant step up from anything previous, the performance is a whole lot better than BO. Ranked servers are provided by treyarch only which may not seem like a good thing but when you see what previous titles have turned into (nuke town 24/7 crouch only, etc etc) I think it's a good thing.
