Going to TEC cool a Mobile Barton! Neeed to find the right stepping.

After all these reading about ppl results with the Mobile Bartons, I am going to try one as well.

I am going to overclock a mobile barton using watercooled tecs. Most people I see here is overclocking it with HSF so maybe I will get a better overclocking result.
I already have a NF-7s v2.0 MB.

Need to know what Mobile Barton to get right now from Newegg and does anyone know if the ones they carry have good stepping?.
Either the 2400+, 2500+, or 2600+ And...
What memory should I get that works best for this CPU?

IMO, if you can swing it, the XP-M 2600+ offers the best chance to get really high speeds. It runs almost the speed of a desktop 3200+ (2.13Ghz), but @ 1.45v instead of 1.65v on the desktop. In theory, the 2600+ will be the best of the batch, so to speak. There are some 2500+'s, and even 2400+'s hitting the 2.5Ghz level, but most seem to need more voltage to do it.

I just picked up a 2600+ from Newegg myself recently, and it's happy doing 2.5Ghz, 1.65v with only an Alpha 8045 and low speed Coolermaster fan. The only other case fans I have are two Panaflo L1A's exhausting the warm air.

If I wanted to run 1.75v+, I could probably hit 2.6Ghz or so on air, so you may have slightly better results with water cooling...

I'm partial to the Kingston HyperX or the Corsair XMS...but there are other cheaper alternatives out there.

do you already have the water cooling setup ?
if not you might wanna check out dangerden.com
that's where i got my water cooling setup for my nf7-s
they sells pelts, water blocks, neoprene, etc
you might wanna just get your pump from a local store tho to save a few bucks
i recommend a small submersable pond pump

also you will need to be carefull about condensation
there is a lot of work ahead of you to protect your system from condensation
you will have to insulate the board and cpu socket

I already made a custom watercooled TEC setup before and it worked quite well. But I sold it. Now I will buy another watercooled TEC setup.

The temps I got with the 226w tec for a 1700+ was around -10c under load.

If anyone is planning to watercool TEC, you must use a better cooling rad or else the water will get very hot. NOTE: the TEC is a lot hotter than a CPU.

I will post results when I get my stuff.
