Well im going to southlake to get fitted for a golf club at one of the long driver's stores. I know it seems very uneconomical, but i'd rather travel there and get it done right the first time then have to do it twice.

Heres the thing, most of the round trip flights have been in the 350-400 dollar range. Im leaving from NYC. Are there any cities with in a half day of driving near southlake that would have cheaper airfare?

If i could get off work, i'd definitly rent a car and drive there. Hit memphis and all those great cities on the way down, but i dont think i could get a week off.

What other travel sites are there besides expedia? I never booked an online trip before.

Try Orbitz first. They're most the time the cheapest for me. Then Travelocity, then Expedia.

Also, see if Southwest flies there. If so look for a voucher on Ebay. Can get a roundtrip ticket to any destination they go to for under $300.

Does Southwest Airlines fly out of NY? They land in Love Field (part of Dallas, probably an hour drive away from Southlake) Honestly, other than Dallas, your only other bets for flights into and around TX is Houston or Abilene or something like that.

Awesome.....UDT you might want to check them out then....they stop into Love Field so that might be a little cheaper than taking a big airline into DFW International.

you can't fly from NY to Love Field. youd have to stop in new mexico, oklahoma, arkansas, or louisiana because of the Wright Amendment. as far as other airports, Austin is a 3 hour drive, San Antonio 4.5, Houston (2 airports) is 5 hours. southwest can fly you from ny to any of those.
