All I know is that it's a LONG ASS flight!!

I'll send in a friend that's been. If he has time, maybe he'll give you some pointers.

Yeah the flight is suck.
14.5 hours in coach while my boss sits in business. (damned Budget)Non stop no less. my small butt is gonna be hurting bad.
anyoen know what a nighttime safari consists of? I'm scared.

thanks Electric.

thereds: what's pretoria?

14.5 hours in coach? That sucks. First class or business class is the only way to fly a long flight. I flew from Califonia to New Zealand (14 hours) in business class, I would have gone crazy in coach. Of course, I got my ticket for free so the money didn't matter. 🙂

take an aspirin before you travel & walk up & down the aisle occasionally to avoid economy class syndrome! 🙂

Hey Civ88,

I'm the guy that Amish was talking about. I lived in South Africa for a couple of years. Unfortunately, I was never down near Cape Town. But, I was up around Joburg quite a bit. The couple of obvious places that come to mind are Kruger National Park and God's Window. Kruger National Park is HUGE!! It's a wildlife park that you just drive your car through and look for the wild animals. The way it was setup when I went there was that they have rest stations throughout the park. Instead of the animals being caged, the rest stations are fenced in to keep the animals out. 🙂 I only got to go for a day trip. But, if wildlife and African culture interest you. You could easily spend several days in the park. And, if you want to see lions, you might have to. *grin* We were lucky enough to get to a spot where lions had been spotted, but by the time we got there, they had moved far enough away from the road that the only way to see them was with binoculars.
God's Window is an interesting spot. If you have seen "The God's Must Be Crazy", the spot where the guy throws the coke bottle 'off the end of the world' is God's Window. Most of the time, it doesn't have the fog like it did in the movie. But, if you get lucky, you might catch it on a day when it's all foggy and it looks like you are standing at the end of the world.
Both of those spots are in the Northeastern part of South Africa.
I'll give it some more thought and add some more later. Gotta go to a meeting now......

Hahah, all i know is that Charlize Theron is from there....so if that's any indication about the women there......look out!

Ack.. I have a bad relationship with South Africa... it's a long sad story of a lost love... and a wasted diamond ring... if you really want details I can tell my story... but I don't think there are nearly enough women who post here for the sympathy motivation....

<EDIT> Make sure you watch some Rugby games... best damn sport on this planet... and South Africans are rugby fanatics!

LOL viper I heard the same thing. no risky business.

JinxSojo,
Sounds good i think that's where i will wind up on the first day i get there 3 hours after I land. the national park. I'm actually really scared of this trip. I wonder if malaria is a problem there cause the trip was kinda planned on the fly. leaving in 45 minutes. WOOT WOOT!

Heh Heh as for the hotties there. we'll just have to see. me and my friends were joking around and we assume there will be no asians there, so I'm supposed to take pictures of any I see. heh heh. (BTW I am Asian)

=) thanks fellas.
Much appreciated

South Africa is coool man
Spend some time in Sun City and you'll know what I mean. Btw no better place for safari than the Krugersdorf park, awesome, late night ride with a Land Rover is great. Night clubs in both Pretoria and Joburg are great, girls are so cute😛
Enjoy!
