Going to see "The Ring" tonight.

How many of you are also going to see it? (I did a search for "ring" and didn't see anything, so sorry if this is a repost.) I'll let you know how it was. We're not seeing it until 7:00 though.

I've heard that the original Japanese one is more gory and much better.

For anyone who's in NYC, they're showing all 3 Ringu's (the japanese ones: Ringu 0, Ringu, and Ringu 2) on the west side (Walter Reade Theater).

I just watched Ringu (the first japanese one) and to be honest, it wasnt that scary..maybe cuz it wasnt maxamized on my screen and i was chatting on instant message thorugh out the whole movie, but its only an hour n a half long.

decent lil twist at the end though.

not really alot of gore to talk about though (not as though all these movies need gore to be scary)

man, did I love that movie, and a lot of people are raving about it over on HTF too......it's not supposed to be pure shock thriller as most movies are these days, this one's eerie and despite being a little slow in the middle, the suspense is really thick throughout the entire movie. I liked it.

I watched this while visiting China, it was freaky. Definately when the girl came out of the ... maybe you should watch it first. But it's a good movie, extremely good if there is a hot girl clutching your arm throughout the movie

Well, I saw it. It was definitely eerie. Through the middle of the movie I have to admit that I got bored. At one point, I thought maybe the movie was over, but there was more. . . actually, the freakiest part of the movie. I don't know that I enjoyed it as much as I did Signs just because Signs kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the whole movie. I think The Ring was okay. Not horrible and not great.

I have no desire to see that one. Not my bag. There's only one film involving a Ring that I plan to see this year. But it doesn't come out until early December.

maybe i'm a wuss.... but i was quite freaked out by the movie. actually that was about the freakiest movie I've ever seen... i'm more impressed with the actual story and "concept" rather than shock factor. it leaves a bit to your own imagination, which in my opinion, is the scariest thing for each of us, as no one knows our own inner fears better than ourselves. u need to get into it though...

can anyone think of another american movie that is adapted from its asian version? I just can't think of any good american scary / eerie movies like this, but have watched many good asian (chinese, japanese) ones.

personally i give it a 10 / 10.... (go ahead and flame me, see if i care. )

i wouldn't really call them ghosts. well if i'm thinking correctly, you're referring to the zombie like subjects that jump up and down w/ their arms out front parralel to the ground? hehehe.... those movies are hilarious

Wait, the ring is an adaptation of the Japanese verison? I thought it was just a dubbed orginal version.

scary movies are alright if they have a plot. Otherwise it's just a waste of time.. you might as well get your friend to shout 'boo!' when you walk into a dark room

i've said this before i'm sure.. but that movie scared the sh!t out of me.. i saw it two weeks ago at a sneak preview, and even to this day i can't watch the commercials.. scariest movie ever

oh crap, i just saw it, and i think this is the scarist movie i have ever seen. I really can't name any other scarier movie. I can't stop thinkin about the movie now, i don't think i can sleep tonite. Sh!7

It was kind of eerie to see it and then leave at night. lol We went through the exit in the front of the theatre and it was all dark and scary. :Q heehee Anyone else see it?
