Love Soderbergh films, tend to like George Clooney, was lulled into deep slumber by the Tarkovsky version of the film, haven't read the Lem source material. So -- probably.

Yep. That woman has a beautiful face, I think it's her eyes and her hair.

At first I thought this was a space exploration movie (that's what I was hoping for). After seeing some of the TV previews, I dunno what kinda movie it is.

Earth loses contact with a space station orbiting planet Solaris. After six months of silence, they send in special forces, but they disappear without a trace. After realizing that whatever power is responsible for this cannot be dealt with by force, they decide to send in a lone psychologist, played by Clooney instead. His mission is to negotiate with the unknown.

This movie is based on a book that was written in the early 60's by Alexander Lem, and is considered a remake of the 1972 Russian film that followed it. The book and film are widely regarded as some of the deepest and most serious works of science fiction ever, and many modern films have their roots in them - most recently, and most noticably, movies like Sphere and Event Horizon, both of which i loved.
