liked him in Independence Day, he was ok in The Omega Man remake from last year. Never really cared for anything else.

Well, I saw the movie last night and I have to agree with a lot of people. The first half of the movie was pretty good. The second half seemed rushed and just thrown together. The movie definately had tons of potential and it just veered off into this cheesy rushed plot.

I will not say that I was not entertained because it was okay.....but still it could have been so much better.

Why do people want to see terrible Will Smith movies?

Blanket statements make one look ignorant. (all Will Smith moves are bad)

Why? Because most of his movies are reasonably good?

I gotta say he's come a long way since he was the Fresh Prince. I, Robot and I Am Legend were both damn good movies for him.

Edit: Forgot Bad Boys, Men In Black and Independence Day too.

Name one terrible Will Smith movie? There isn't any that I can recall.

Don't say I am Legend.. it was pretty good, but not great. Independence Day was another mindless action flick but it was good also. I, Robot, was a pretty damn good action flick also. Wild Wild West was probably the worst of the good movies, but it was still good with Kevin Kline providing comedy backup.

I just checked out IMDB and cant find a single movie he was in that I didn't find enjoyable that wasn't worth the $8.00 for a ticket.

Hancock comes to mind... 😉
I saw this pile of poo last night. All the good scenes were compressed into the trailers. There were a few 'funny' moments in the beginning but after that it just devolved into this mash of garbage. I'm not going to give away any spoilers... but really. Not good.

And then there was Legend of Bagger Vance. That was another bad one... oddly enough, co-starring Charlize Theron as well.

The thing about Will Smith is that he's a pretty good actor even in pretty bad movies (ie. I Am Legend, Wild Wild West (does anyone think this was good?), etc.). His performance is never bad unto itself - but some of the movies he's in are.

Regarding Hancock tho, I loved it.

First half - 8/10. Could have been better if the studio kept R rating.

Second half - 4/10. Horrible plot twist, and the whole thing just seemed rushed.

Leon

I saw it Thursday night and I must admit, I was kind of disappointed. As entertaining as Will Smith is, the movie was not what I expected it to be. I thought the plot twist was rather lame and if anything it caused some holes. I don't understand what the rules/boundaries to them being near each other are. (keeping it somewhat spoiler free) As Leon said the second half just wasn't as good. Overall it wasnt a bad movie though. Just not movie of the summer.

That title belongs to Dark Knight.

Saw it last night. Best movie this season, IMO. I had a feeling it was gonna be good but it was even better than I expected. #1 for me this summer. Have a feeling the Dark Knight is gonna blow chunks.

I'm slow, but finally went to see it last night.

1. Story was weak
2. Acting was alright
3. Special effect scenes were pretty good, but a little ridiculous
4. Camera work was excellent
5. Ending was good

I'm going to give it a 7 out of 10. It lost points for the lame way the story revealed itself, some unnecessary profanity, and the eye makeup that Charlize Theron decided to sport all of the sudden.
