I've been to ArcLight and seen a film in one of their biggest theaters in digital... but haven't seen one in the Cinermadome. What is the experience like? Does the thing lack stadium seating?

they range from 1.3k to 2k..to 4k. SXRD projectors from sony are the newest..rarest i think. 1.3 blows..probably the one where i saw the horrible screen door effect.

Well I showed up @ 12:35 for a 12:30 showing and they had already started the film.

It was in some battle scene right before the pod thigns attach to Obi-wan's ship. Fvkign douches started it early:|

Anyways, the graphis were very nice.

The sound left a LOT to be desired. (theater's fault)

LIES!!! LIES!!!
I agree! I've seen it in both versions, and the film version is better. The blacks in the DLP version aren't as deep as the film version.

Actually the scene you're talking about is about 5 minutes into the film so you arrived late! :p

The main problem with digital on the "big screen" is the projector itself needs like a billion pixels or yeah you will SDE everywhere.

Master resolution can always be tonnes lower, they just upsample for that.

Thats a shame about the sound being poor. THe DLP theatre I saw it at (as well as Ep II) had wonderful sound. The DLP plays 24bit uncompressed audio, and it really showed for me. THe clarity of the instruments and the subtleties of the quiet portions were wonderful.

Hopefully you can find a better DLP theatre in your area.
