Haven't been there before and I'm going with my wife so where should I go? All I know is the space needle and nothing else about the area. TIA.

Where will you be staying?

We'll be staying at the Marriot in Kent because this was sort of last minute (I just booked this 😱).

To the OP:

The EMP and the seattle center area (under the space needle).
Sonics are out of town.
West Seattle (alki, thats where i live 🙂), nice views.
The market (plz just park far away from it, i dont want to deal with more traffic this weekend, i work down there 🙂).
Pioneer square.
Take a ferry to bainbridge.

At this time of year, I would visit Seattle's aquarium before going to the zoo.

The aquaium is kind of old, funky and damp but is a treat none the less.

A full day could be spent at Pike's Market. It's a must do.

it's gonna be cold this weekend, but you might want to try snoqualmie falls too, about 1 hour drive out east, tons of snow up there too...
if you are into gambling, there are tons of Indian tribe casinos, like the mukulshoot(sp?).
But getting out on the water is great, pioneer square, the international district, ballard locks, etc...

Walk around swinging a Terrible Towel over your head.😀

That'll get you beat up. Oh wait, this is Seattle - people will just give you a look and then walk by.

I was there in Dec....... the Aquarium is under renovations I think.

If you like sports take a tour of the best ball park in the majors (according to SI): Safeco Field.
Pikes Place/Waterfront is a must.
Pioneer square is cool especially if you take the Seattle Underground tour.
If the wife wants shopping Bell Square in Bellevue is nice and Pacific Place downtown has the ultra expensive shops.
Hit up Broadway St on Capitol Hill for some cool stores and diverse crowd.
U of Washington campus is gorgeous and University Ave ("the ave") has good coffee shops and bookstores.
Seattle Art Museum is pretty good, Benaroya Hall is amazing, and the new library downtown is a freakin COOL building.
Freemont is a cool little town right near downtown with some interesting people, good food, and an enormous troll crushing an old VW bug hiding under a bridge!!!
The lockes are cool and try to take a ferry boat ride even if its just for kicks and you don't want to stay around Bainebridge or Port Orchard or whatever.

Unfortunately theres nothing worth noting in Kent. hahaha. But you are only a 20-30 min drive from downtown Seattle.
