preempted my insurance with and now that I'm 25 with 4yrs NCB my insurance has dropped from £1250 to £846 😀 You can't complain with that!

Hmmmm...thats an additional £400 I get to spend on track days now.

How much do you guys pay and include other useful info (age, car, any claims etc)

I'm 25, been driving since I was 18 and drive an 2002 S2000.

I pay 287 a month now for a 04 Tiburon, one speeding tickets, two accident claims, one theft claim, and one comprehensive claim. Trying really hard to get rid of the car and pay cash for something around $2500 and drop comprehensive until most things on my record start to go away next year.

I pay around $1100/year for two 30-somethings on a 2000 maxima and 2004 MPV. I have deductibles set low and coverage as high. Difference in insurance rates between an 18 year old and 28 year old can be magnitudes.

£300~£320 (3rd party F&T or Fully comp w/£100 voluntary excess + 250 compulsory)
22 / 3 years NCB / 1.2l Fiat Punto
Or that's what my renewal should be in about 3 weeks assuming nothing happens between now and then.

1100 euro / year - full insurance (if I total it, I get a new one even if it's my fault)
2009 Audi a4
32 year old male
clean driving record

I'm happy we aren't the only ones paying a fuck load here in Canada. Knowing others are suffering too makes me feel a bit better. I still envy US insurance, especially for motorcycles, $ 450 vs $ 4500 is a pretty good deal.

What do you pay? I remember as a 22 year old with a spotless record paying $1450/year to insure decade-old Accord and that was only for liability insurance! That year I got under full insurance on a low end subaru and I think it was at least $2500/year. When I came to the US shortly after I noted that my insurance rate was way lower than in Canada.

It's on my dad's insurance. My dad has a clean driving record and is 50 +, he is also a truck driving instructor and has signing authority in Ontario.

For my Lexus on his insurance I pay 136 a month, full coverage. It's a 2001 ES 300.

For his Toyota Camry station wagon 1992, he pays 102 a month, not full coverage, the car is a piece of junk, 460,000 km.

Motorcycles are on dad also:

1984 Honda Sabre V65 = 975 for this first year and will probably drop the 2nd year, and the 3rd. It's only for liability and doesnt have theft.

2009 Night Rod Special = 1560 and that's full coverage.

If I were to insure the Harley on me I had quotes from $ 3700 all the way up to $ 5800 depending where I called. I did a quote over the phone with progressive in the states and it came out to be $ 475 per year for the Harley for me for the first year, and that was full coverage.

Btw the bikes are on a lowered plan already and are not insured for the winter season, with the exception of the Harley, it has fire/theft only for those months.

Crazy shit here 🙁

Btw my whole genius plan of insuring/keeping the bikes in Buffalo failed. Everything was good until I found out that the Canadian border would charge me taxes on my bikes cost in order to bring it into the country, without that I could not even cross the border as a Canadian citizen on a US registered vehicle, unless it is a rental.

Talk about having all your angles covered, filthy insurance crooks and government officials.

But I have another masterplan in the works that might work, just not for this year, I'm too eager to ride 🙂

Thats savage mate!

You drive a 330Ci right?

I'm glad I waited as stomaching £1250 was hard enough but when I push my car about it puts a smile on my face and I think f0ck the insurance! 😛

In general I found that insurance rates in England (left for the US at age 30) were significantly cheaper than the US, assuming this hasn't changed in the 10 years I've been on this side of the pond.

At age 41, I'm paying roughly $990/year for a brand new BMW 135i, with a $500 deductable and $100K/$300K limits.

I pay $218 PER YEAR for the Porsche 944. Driving for 15 years on the same insurance, clean record the entire time, 31 year old single male.

I pay around $100 a month for my part of a $300K combined single limit policy from Progressive. It's a two driver policy:

26 y/o (me) driving a 2002 Mustang GT
28 y/o (the g/f) driving a 2006 Sonata

That's with $100 deductibles and a few <$1000 comprehensive claims (rock damage on a previous car, vandalism on my Mustang) and an at-fault accident for the g/f a couple years back. We also both use Progressive's MyRate program, which saved me 15% last time due to my extremely low mileage and low-speed driving.
