Going to Orlando for a couple of days

Aside from Disney World/USF, and all that, what are some things to do around Orlando? I'll be at a conference all day W/U/F and will be limted to evenings for getting away from the hotel...

Universal City Walk or Downtown Disney (both are shopping/restaurant/drinking areas), and are well worth it to go.

There is also Old Town in Kissimmee. It is fairly "country" or redneck even, but they have giant beers, good food, and lot of carnival and amusement type rides. Nothing like Disney, so you avoid the crowds and expense.

There are lots of things to do on I-Drive (International Drive). You can go see the world's largest McDonalds. I kid.

What are you interests? At night I really recommend Downtown Disney or Citywalk. They are both a lot of fun.

I'll be there Wednesday/Thursday/Friday, with a couple of co-workers. Not looking for kiddie stuff, but more things not to miss of a social or historical nature.

What part of town are you staying in, will you have a car? Do you care about expense?

We are at the Florida Mall Hotel. No car, but I'm willing to take a taxi or get a car for the evening if it's worthwhile. Not gonna blow hundreds, but I'm not on a tight budget

Hmm - theres not TOO much incredibly close to that hotel.

Titanic Exhibit (in the mercado shopping center)
Fun Spot - near International Drive (go carts!)
Theres a place on International drive that you can "skydive" in a windtunnel - pretty neat but its like $80 IIRC

If you are staying at the florida mall - eat at Buca Di Beppo if you can(its in the mall) and try the tiramisu 😀

might do that....I was there last January too, but didn't have much time to do anything, but I intend to make time this year.

Drive about 60 miles to TAMPA and hit Ybor City.
After that, go to some of the strip joints there.
I've been to many strip joints around the US and I haven't seen better than the ones in Tampa.

Nightlife in Orlando is nothing special.

Ike, around the Florida Mall is kinda boring.
NO car means your very limited.
Thought you were staying near Disney.

skip the titanic exhibit. If I recall correctly nothing there was on the titanic, is that weird or is it just me.

Church Street Station might occupy a little time.

Go clubbing at Disney's Pleasure Island after 10PM. If you meet a girl named Betsy Brown at Mannequins, you're gonna want to cancel the rest of your plans and just hang on for dear life.

Orange Blossom Trail FTW!
