Unfortunately, you've missed out on some of the best that Olive Garden had to offer. Many of their best dishes are off the menu. People are just too worried about onion/garlic breath. Sigh.

Good things left:
[*]They do have a nice breadstick pizza crust. The pizza toppings are lacking, but the crust is quite good and buttery.
[*]The garlic chicken with broccoli is heavenly if you like garlic.
[*]Their flavored lemonades are the best I've had.
[*]Their standard salad dressing is quite addictive.

AnthroAndStargate, be sure to fill that giant blue backpack avatar of yours with the salad and breadsticks as you leave (ask for fresh stuff just before you go).

If olive garden is good food what the hell is bad? It's pre-processed garbage.

Simply open the phone book and flip to the Italian section. Drive to the closest one. You can't miss according to these posts... /sarcasm

Taste is subjective. Posts in this thread should be:

1) Taste of Italy
2) Chicken Marsala
3) Minestrone

That's it. Effing people and their unsolicited opinions. Go suck and egg and may your partner fart under the covers.

I've had service be extremely bad at olive garden 3 times in 2 different states. I keep thinking it must just be a coincidence.

Burger King, Taco Bell. Those are bad. Olive Garden tastes quite good. Sure, there are better restaurants, but you'd be a lier if you said everything they served was garbage.

YES, it never fails to see a "my local italian restaurant is better" post. Like that helps anyone here.

Fettucini Chicken Alfredo here, although Red Lobster's is actually better (yes I said it).

OMG- came in to work and there were 2 WHOLE LASAGNAS from Olive Garden left from a party yesterday. I just ate 2 lbs of cheesy noodley goodness with a giant salad. The breadsticks didn't hold up too well :(

Even scored ice cream cake for desert! Yay, got fat at work today :D

I went to the Olive Garden a few nights ago. There was a 45 minute wait at 9:00 PM. Not bad for a restaurant that serves food that isn't suitable for consumption by barnyard animals.

Agreed. A little of everything, and it's usually all good. The chicken parmesan is tasty as well.

Barnyard animals? I mean, c'mon. Granted we all might not be snobs about food like you, but Olive Garden is hardly McDonald's. The food's alright.

I had the never ending pasta Saturday.

Penne was my only choice w/

smoked mozz alfredo
meat sauce with peppers
red sauce with meatballs
smoked mozz alfredo with roasted chicken

The g/f had steak and gorgonzola again. The iced tea was awesome. Our salad was a little weak.

The food is fair. Some coworkers and I went there for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I had some kind of pasta with steak that was covered in a blue-cheese sauce. It was okay, but it was $17.

 I'm the anti-food-snob. I don't like to eat at fancy restaurants. I  Olive Garden. That post was a sarcastic dig at food snobs. ;)

same here, minus the beer. i like their fett alfredo with chicken. its also tasty with the shrimp. i had a different dish the last time i was there (family loves that place) that was really good, but i cant remember what it was called. lots of seafood in it.

edit:

it was grilled shrimp caprese that i had last time! good stuff. the seafood alfredo rocks too.

Topic Summary: What is good?

I am going to the Olive Garden tonight for the first time

The Chicken Alfredo Pizza.

Dipping it in the sauce is heavenly.

You won't anything like it from the big Pizza chains.
