Couple of Bostonians (us) and my other friend from FL will meet up with us there.

We'll arrive via bus around 11am tomorrow (Sat) and stay one night and leave on Sunday evening (around 6-7pm).

What are some touristy things to do?

That wax museum? I know there are LOTS of museums in NYC, but what's the biggest one/most famous one that houses Van Gogh and stuff?

What else besides museums?

Also what are some good fancy restaurants you recommend? My friend wants to check out Nobu Tribecca (expensive sushi owned by Robert DiNero), what are some other suggestions?

How about night life?

Please advise!

I really hope you have a reservation for Nobu. If not, try Nobu Next Door. it's a LOT easier to get into that place without a reservation.

grab lunch in Chinatown. Most of places will do you fine. Try Big Wong or Hop Kee or Jing Fong (for dim sum).

Also explore Greenwich Village (both East and West Villages). They're extremely colorful places and full of character. Lots of cozy restaurants and all kinds of weird and special shops and boutiques. Lots of good bars here too.

For classical art, go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is on 86th and 5th ave (on Museum Mile, which is the eastern edge of Central Park). It's a suggested donation admission fee. I just pay a buck, since i'm a student.

also check out the Museum of Modern Art (not on museum mile) and/or The Guggenheim (on museum mile), if you like modern art.

Just walk through TImes Square just to say you've seen it and been there. Don't spend any more than like TEN minutes there.

Spend time in Central Park, it's beautiful.

quick tips about the city's layout.

avenues run north to south, and increase in number as you go farther west.

streets run east to west, and increase in number as u go farther north.

ie, 59th street and 2nd ave is north-east of 34th st. and 5th ave.

If you ever lose your bearings, just know that the cars that run down Broadway (south of 59th, at least) always travel south. Cars on Madison avenue always travel north.

They're not fancy, but if you're looking for cool places to eat, try Jeckel & Hyde's and Mars 2112.

Try some of the roasted nuts from the street vendors... they're delicious.

Head over to China town for lunch one of the days.

See Times Square and possibly a Broadway show.

Visit Ground Zero. Wander around w/ a big grin and keep repeating "This is so cool!" in a loud voice, changing your intonation each time.
