Going to New York for a few days

Hi,

I'm going to New York in two weeks and I wanted to buy a video card and maybe a processor and a motherboard there.

The thing is... where can I buy computer parts in NY? Before you answer, there's a catch. I want a place that I can check all the parts they have beforehand through the web. Why? Before I want to go there knowing what I'm going to get already, and when buying motherboards you can't get there and know about every model there is (too many!).

So I want a place I can check now what they are selling, so I can research and choose carefully, and then I could go there and buy it myself.

Thanks in advance.

best regards

Compusa

Staples

Office Depot

Best Buy

Radio Shack

Those are about the biggest in the area ... as to prices, you will need to
compare, as some are much higher than others ... also some places have
a better return policy if the item won't work or is unsuitable (Staples &
Compusa have the best policies on this)

Try J&R music world, they have quite an extensive collection of things and are located in south manhattan near the financial district. Huge store (actually if I remember its mroe than one store spread across a few buildings).

Heres a link to their website, specifically the locations page.

I assume your visiting new york from another country and want to buy parts in the USA cuz they are generally cheaper?

J & R is a good choice if he will be in the Lower Manhattan area .. it is down near Fulton St & Broadway

If you are going to be at an address that can accept packages, why not just order from newegg.com and have then shipped to where you will be staying?

(prices are good and no tax when shipped to NY)

🙂
