I'm going to Mexico tomorrow to Bahai Asuncion for a week of spearfishing and freediving. Where can I get a SIM card for the phone with lots of data for GPS nav through Mexico and VOIP services?

u get that when you arrived. get a prepaid sim there, they should have plan for data. it will probably be expensive.

get a nokia smart phone? that's what i use for map in other country. u download the maps before.

Movistar and Telcel are the 2 options. Available all over the place, but I've only used them for voice.



edit: the refills (amigo card, et al) are available at most bodegas, convenience stores, etc. For the SIM card, you probably need a dedicated cell provider's shop, not as common in the sticks, but ask around and it will work out.
