Maybe something like this, a cool city plan. These are of Paris. It would bee cool to have it cleaned up and without text -- it would be a good conversation piece. What looks like odd triangular shapes and circles is really a map!

Besides that those who are looking to steal usually want the item for its easy resale value. Someone else's personally engraved laptop doesn't strike me as the most anonymous thing to fence.

Final design, going to laser it tomorrow. It's vector, so there will be nothing blurry about it. I went with the idea of the apple being the center element and the design needed to embrace that.
