Facts:

- My first time in Asia
- Staying for 1 week
- Will have a local friend there to take me around

Is there anything I definitely "must" do while I'm there? Anything to avoid/definitely know before going?

1) Tentacles
2) Underwear-dispensing-machines
3) See that giant Gundam thing they built
4) Tentacles again

If you're going to be in Tokyo for a week, look at planning day trips to Nikko, Kamakura, or Hakone.

Never been to Japan but it's at the top of my list of places to visit next. Personally the 2 things that pop into my mind right away would be to experience some good authentic Japanese cuisine. Go to some nice Japanese sushi bars!!! Second I would have to visit Akihabara. Course there are tens of thousands of other things to do in a fascinating country like Japan Those are just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure which areas are bad for gangs, but try to find out and avoid the shit out of those areas. And don't joke about Yakuza, they will fuck you up.

Japan has one of the lowest violent crime rates of any country on earth. I'm not saying you should do stupid things like provoke biker gangs or anything but it's one of the safest places you can visit. If I were visiting New York, Los Angeles or London I might look up where the bad districts are but not anywhere in Japan.

Yeah right go to a busy intersection and hold up a huge cardboard sign saying in Hiragana, Foreign guy looking for Japanese girl to perform bukkake with. Don't think you're going to get many takers. And be careful of the ones who would say yes!! 😉

hot spring spa in hakone
temple in asakusa and ueno
shinjuku
shibuya (club atom is awesome)
akihabara
rappongi (shopping)
kabukicho (hostess club, bars, yakuza, redlight district)
