I've been to Oahu Hawaii twice, and it's an enjoyable trip, but when it comes to a more exciting vacation, I prefer Manhattan NYC or Las Vegas. Hawaii is enjoyable when the sun is up, but once the sun goes down there isn't a heck of a lot of excitement happening. It's like a Ghost town. That's why I prefer taking vacations at NYC or Vegas. When the sun goes down there, the excitement kicks up 10 notches.

I, personally, would never want that. It seems like a waste. My vacations are not about clbus, though. Hell, I hate even thinking about them :D

I'm not talking about clubs. There's a million other things to do in NYC or Vegas when the sun goes down. I just found that Hawaii was kind of dull after dark. People flocked back to their hotel rooms. On the other hand, Times Square is a blast in the evening, not to mention the Broadway shows and of course the dining after the show. Then there's the strip in Vegas, that's just a blast to wander around in the evening.

Go to this bar for some 'Awa juice.
I've never had it or been to Hawaii but I was watching a tv show about Hawaii and it mentioned this as something to try.

EDIT: I don't know where in Hawaii this is located but I'll leave that up to someone else to find out.

Awa's active ingredient is actually a cocktail of over one dozen molecules known as kavalactones, which occur in various concentrations. These molecules synergistically produce pain-alleviating muscle-relaxing stress-relieving anxiety-reducing euphoric effects.* While the kavalactones soothe the body, they stimulate the mind.* This is such a unique phenomenon that it's worth repeating. ?Awa simultaneously soothes the body and stimulates the mind!** This is an enjoyable experience which inspires goodwill, creativity, and introspection.* The hypnotic (sleep-inspiring) quality eventually takes hold, ultimately preparing all for personal revelation in dream.

I have tried it. It is very woody in taste, it was as if I was chewing on bark. It made my mouth tingle however I felt no euphoric effects.

Ok - so which is it, the big island (Hawaii) or the island where Honolulu is (Oahu)?

Waikiki Beach kinda sucks...it's the "big name" area and there's lots of people watching to do there...but just don't get in the water...looks great from the top...but if you step in the water, at least bring some aqua shoes or sandals, or you're gonna get your feet shredded up by the coral underneath...I remember vividly the pain and agony of that visit to Waikiki beach...to this very day :)

You can rent a set there if you don't feel like buying...it's under $10 to rent (might even be $5) if you can get over the fact that the snorkel has been in someone else's mouth. You won't need a wet suit since you're just gonna be on the surface of the water.
