There are so many freaking cats out there it's mind-boggling. You could euthanize 1,000 of them per day and not make a dent in the population just in our county.
When my g/f and I went to Kentucky to visit her grandparents (on a farm in the hills in the eastern part of the state, out in BFE), we found that they had a rather brutal method for dealing with stray cats.. they'd put them in fertilizer bags and hang them from a tree, and leave them...
