Going to Disney World? Ask me anything

I went in early March, and the weather wasn't /too bad/. If I go again, it'll be in January or February. My last day there, we were just hanging around the hotel waiting to go to the airport, and it was miserably hot and humid. The rest of the trip was fairly pleasant for a hot climate though.

How much did you spend (in total @ the parks themselves)? How many attractions did you see? How long were you there?
It was about $1500 per head for 10 days of park access (with hopping), accomodations, and dining plan (includes lunch, dinner and a snack every day). Each park takes about a day to fully enjoy, depending on lines (very busy this time of year), and there's quite a bit of variety in the entertainment. I can't list everything that we saw but there were regular roller coaster rides, drop-style rides (Drop Zone/Tower of Terror/etc.), simulations, viewing rides, musicals (excellent), 3D movies (very immersive), dinner shows, etc.

The food is very good, I suppose that guy just didn't do his research before going.

EDIT: You will likely never find better customer service at Disney World's price point.

Oh one other thing to mention, Fast Pass and Extra Magic Hours are where it's at. I think the longest we waited in line was probably 15-20 minutes and even that was rare. If you learn to use the Fast Pass and EMH to your advantage it's really not bad at all. Caveat: It was me and my GF so we did not have to deal with kids. That does make maneuvering through the park a lot more efficient and probably helped us get ahead of some crowds as soon as the EMH started. I really cannot stress this enough... use the fast pass and extra magic hours to your advantage. (Note: The AM Extra Magic Hours are where it's at. Get your ass to the park while all the families are trying to round up all the kids for breakfast.)

The dining plan is also a great investment for a couple of reasons but mainly the convenience factor won out. We initially talked about going off site to do dinner but I'm so glad we didn't. Even without waiting in line we ended up being pretty exhausted by the end of the day. Plus after running the numbers I realized that we just weren't going to come out too far ahead by trying to plan out all of our meals on our own.

BTW, you can take snacks and drinks into the park now. Use this perk to your advantage if you want to save money.
