Speaking of which..I opened up my old Celly 500 machine the other day...oh..my...God..more dust than you could shake a stick at. The modem card was covered in about a 1/4" thick layer of dust. The CPU heatsink was almost completely clogged with dust. Looked like a dust storm when I blew the thing out with compressed air on my back porch..

I'd add a firewall like Zonealarm to keep it clean afterward also.

At work we replaced a bunch of P2s (250-400mhz) with P4s and the HDs had to be wiped or removed. So we had about 100 machines to go through, nasty stuff. pic1 pic2.

They have Winxp on all the machines, thing is they're too dumb to keep the CD's in a safe spot so I'm just bringing the CD and will extract the CDkey from the computer if I DO format. They also happen to have norton but agian, because they're dumb, they keep loosing the stuff.

Those Dell front panels are designed to catch dust like that, believe it or not. The idea was to create more service when the things clogged up and overheated, but there was enough airflow in from the back (which DOESN'T catch dust) to keep the interior cool and fairly clean. (and yes, that is fairly clean)
