Alright. I'm going to buy a p3 700e, and overclock it this august. I'd like some direction on what cooling will be needed, and also where to buy my ram, because i know it has to be good high quality ram. I'm going to go with the Abit Be6-2 for a mobo!

I'd like to acheive 1002mhz! I'd be overwhelmed with that, it'd be a nice break from my 233mhz :)

1000 from a 700 may be pretty tough. Maybe get a 750, but no higher. Be sure you get a cB0 stepping FC-PGA P3 CPU with a 'slotket'(if necessary). Ditch that Abit and get a real man's mobo, the ASUS CUSL2, which will be coming soon to a friendly store near you.

Get an orb and see my sig and you will be good to go. The BX mobo is still the undisputed King.

700e cb0 oem (sl3xx) @ 970/139 @ 1.85V (probably stable at lower voltages, not yet tested).
fcpga with adapted secc2 cooler w/ 2xhigh speed fans.
oem fcpga converter.
abit bh6 1.1 sp bios.
asus v6800.

be sure to get the cb0, and a good memory module.
probably my system is limited by my Micron pc100, so you should reach the giga with a good pc133 dimm.

700e ROCKS!

good luck.

Read anandtech.com just had a review of bunch of coolers.

Golden Orb is one of the best cheap coolers you can buy.

Thermaltake Golden orb coolers are awesome cooling systems for overclocking. http://www.thermaltake.com is their home page and it has some pictures and technological charts and stuff. I just bought one, doing the same thing you are (ordering the CUSL2 also).. bought it from http://www.natacomptech.com for $12 + 7 shipping = 19 bucks. Not a bad deal for how well the setup works.

- Anyone buy a CUSL2 in the U.S. yet? I heard Canada is shipping them out. Maybe I can get one from a canadian website?
