In September, what is the best can't get anywhere else ethnic food in the city? Or should I do someplace trendy like Momofuku?

It's hard to not find a dish from anywhere on earth. When I came back from overseas a couple of years ago, I had a craving for food I'd eaten while in a particular country. I searched far and wide. Found a place in Staten Island. When that closed down, I found another one in Queens. It's far but I make my pilgrimage out there once a week and buy like a $100 worth of food. I'm their best customer🙂

If you're only going to be here one night may as well do whatever you like.

Halal cart on the southwest corner of 53rd and 6th ave. You'll know it's the right one because the line will be utterly ridiculous for a street meat cart at 8pm on a weekday.
