going snowboarding

well i usually ride all 5 days(maybe 6 this year) and the lift tix are $59/day. i saw a post on CL for a 09/10 season pass for $350. i offered $250 via paypal and they took it.

a little afraid sending $250 to some stranger. i asked him to send pics with his name beside ticket. not sure what else i can do for a safety net..? any one else have experience?

plan on selling it back after i use it.

Maybe they got laid off and could use the cash more than the ticket? Personally though, I'd buy a season pass from the resort I plan to go to (probably Kirkwood this year).

well i would buy it(since i got it for $45 cheaper than if i bought lift tix/day) and then resell it and try to get back as much money as i can. the woman kindly and quickly sent a picture of it with her name on a sheet of paper.

she's in new mexico(i searched Albuquerque for season pass and found it). it would need to be mailed to me.

Season passes aren't transferable. Also, most resorts have some sort of lost pass policy, where he can pay $40 to get a new one and the old one cancled. Check with the resort to know and understand the policies. I bet this is a scam.

You buy the pass, he reports it lost and gets a new one and yours doesn't work. A better option for you is to buy some bulk tickets (not the size of an alternator). You can usually buy ten tickets for cheaper then the day price. Get some friends to buy the ones you don't use from you. Every resort will offer this, sometimes they are even transferable so you wont have any problem getting rid of them.

What mountain is it for?

I know where I ski season passes have your photo on it... not that they really check or can get a good look at your face under all your gear at the lifts, but still something to consider. If he bought it but hasn't picked it up yet, I'm sure they'll ask for a photo ID if you were to try to pick it up.

the season hasn't started. seems it's a sheet of paper i take when i get there and they set my id/photo up. i just emailed the resort asking about the process if i was to purchase one from them. perhaps they mail you the sheet of paper after you purchase(from the resort) then you set it up upon arrival?

no one has ever bought lift tix/season passes off the net?

I doubt you'll be able to sell the season pass after you've used it. Who is going to take a chance buying a season pass that has someone else's name and probably picture on it?

i asked for a closer picture of the fine/small print. she said no, the small print contains codes and could be reproduced.

maybe this is legit. waiting to hear back from the resort tomorrow.

that definitely looks like something they would print out and give to a charity to raffle off or for a silent auction, I'd go for it.

I love Kirkwood, already have a season pass there(get one most years) The 6wood pass is awesome cause I hate going on saturdays anyway and it was only 240 bucks. Also, how do you buy a season pass from someone? It has their name/faceon it...
