Going on my first cruise in the Caribbean this Friday...

Any tips on what I should make sure I do. I'm really excited. I'm stopping at Labadee, Hispaniola; Ocho Rios, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Grand Bahama Island.

The only island I've been to before is the Bahamas so I'm not sure what to expect. I plan on going snorkeling, parasailing, and renting a jet ski. I'm not sure which island is best for which though.

edit:
What's the best island to do the following:
snorkeling
parasailing
jet skiing

edit2:
Are you allowed to bring alcohol on the ship? I was planning on buying some stuff at the ports and bringing it onboard to save some dinero. Do they not allow that?

Update:
I'm back! Great times. Slept, Drank and Ate alot. I tried my first rum cake and it was yummy. I find myself hungry all the time now that I'm back. We went to Dunn Falls and snorkeled at Sting Ray City (I found that a bit scary even though the sting rays were fairly tame). Freeport Bahamas sucks! If I were to do it again I'd just do a cruise to nowhere. The time at the ports are too short. I'll see if I can post some pics in the next couple of days if y'all are interested.

Update2:
might take a little while for me to get up pics. My internet connection at home isn't working and the first tech they can get out to my house is Tuesday.

Report back on how they fared against those hurricanes.

Be prepared to be accosted by people selling everything from hair braiding to drugs. Do no buy the drugs, rumor is that many of the sellers work with the police, and then you will be in a real pickle.

easy.... drink... drink... get laid... drink... eat great food... more sex.. more drinks.. and you might want to swim parasail snorkle dive and other stuff in between.. but that about covers it..

cruises kick ass.

what he said + ganja!

beware of what a previous poster said tho about cops etc

look into Dunn's River Falls at Ocho Rios, I thought that was pretty cool
also make sure to gamble, eat, get laid, and drink yourself silly!

I'm going with some friends. I hope I miss the Hurricanes, they're early and furious this year. I don't smoke anything, but I'm sure I can get utterly wasted on liquid fun! I've heard all about the overeating and sleeping on cruises - looking forward to it 🙂

What's the best island to snorkel at?

Go snorkeling at Stingray City on Grand Cayman if you have the time.

this seems cool. How about jetskiing and parasailing?

weed.

Try to find one of the quickie scuba classes. They give you a couple hours of lessons then take you on a beginner's dive (<30 feet, ~45 minutes IIRC). My wife and I did it a couple of years ago and it's so much more fun than snorkeling.

Something to think about. My GF is going too and last time we went to the carribean she refused to scuba with me.

That's pretty much it.

1. Eat
2. Eat.
3. Drink
4. Dance
5. Eat
6. "sleep"
7. Repeat.
8. ...
9. Profit.

Since you're took the same cruise, any tips to maximize enjoyment?

The last cruise I went on was pure hell. We toured the Eastern Caribbean, and I went with a girl I was dating, what a mistake that was. But it sounds like you've gone on one with her before so hopefully it'll work out for you again 😉

How secure would you say the cruise ship rooms are? Is it safe to store stuff inside? I know it should be as safe as a hotel room but it seems that you are paying so much and it's more "refined", there might be a higiher level of safety and more deterrants to theft.

iirc, caymans are the best for snorkeling. clearest waters.

dunns river falls in ocho rios was fun.
cool beans. I'm pretty sure I'm checking out Sting Ray city there and since y'all are suggesting it I'll check out dunns river falls as well.

I plan on putting my valuables in my locked suitcase.

Don't ever leave anything in your room. ever. you cuold be on the most classy ship and something could get stolen. we always put our laptop, phones, extra cash in the safe provided in the cabin. its better to be safe than sorry!

BTW, OP, what cruise line? (if i missed it on this thread?!
