Going on a water diet

I started a water diet beginning this week. Basically drinking 6-8 glass of water through the day, a fruit for breakfast, a pack of planters nuts for lunch and dinner. My only worry is if it will make me feel weak, since I play tennis and cricket during the weekend.

This sounds like a bad idea even if you weren't active. Your body requires many more calories than two packs of peanuts can provide in order to function normally.

How many days do you plan to eat that way? Sounds like you want to do something extreme to lose weight? It's better to have a plan if you want to go about and lose weight that way. Have you heard of intermittent fasting? There are different variations but you might be interested in the link below.

To answer your question, you shouldn't feel tired after day two or three from eating that way. The reason you will feel tried or weak is due to your body switching from carbs to fat as energy.

Uh, yeah it most definitely will...I suppose if you want to lose weight this will do it - but why not go all out and do a water fast for a few weeks (check youtube). Horrible idea but you'll lose weight...

Or you could just eat healthier and stay active- feel great and will lose weight if you do it right...

This is a stupid idea.
Where did you get the idea to do this? Where ever\whoever you got it from, delete the bookmark, abandon the friendship\relatioship and sell their dog to gypsies.

What you've just said ... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul...

After reviewing some literature and consulting with my cat, I think I may have been to judgmental in my original post.

OP - Are you trapped on an airliner? Is this why you are doing this "diet"? Is the plane in the air or on the ground? If its on the ground, look in the seat pocket in front of you. There should be a laminated handout with instructions. Look for the part where it shows a door with a red handle. Now look around for a door that matches the picture.
Pull the red handle and exit the plane using the slide.
Now look around for signs pointing to restaurants, grocery stores or someplace that sells food.
Buy some of that food and eat it.

If you are in the air, you can continue this diet you are on but when the plane lands, follow the steps in that hand out follow previous instruction.

godspeed to you sir

So what are you consuming, 300 calories? Pretty sure you are going to lose muscle mass very quickly as your body starts to break down muscle for nutrients.

No disrespect to the dead but this sounds like some thing Steve Jobs would do, he actually did an air and water diet among many other crazy health things.

Anyway like others have said this is most definitely not a good idea even if you are morbidly obese and trying to lose weight which I'll assume your not since you play tennis. Although drinking 6-8 glasses of water a day is a good thing but water has no nutrients.

I think your body will start pulling protein from your muscles after the third full day of fasting, so if your goal is to lose weight, water fast for 2 full days at a time. Also, don't eat anything with sugar in it. It'll raise your insulin levels making you hungry, like fruits. Drink BCAAs for your muscles.

Fasting is fine. Our bodies adapt. I do two 48-60 hour fasts a month usually. What the op is planning to do, however, is not a fast. If you want to fast, eat nothing and drink only water or unsweetened tea.

The definition of fasting is pretty broad. Muslims fast for 30 straight day during one summer month, I forgot which month but they still eat. I believe they are only allowed to eat during sun down or basically eating once a day. Michael Mosely's 5:2 defines fasting as eating under 25% of your daily maintenance or 600 calories max in order to receive the benefits of a fast. So if the OP is just eating a few fruits and nuts during the day, it counts as fasting. I believe this is similar to how catholic's fast.

Edit: Just realized that this is an old topic. I wonder what the OP decided to do and if he carried through with it.
