so I have this job at a really boring company (a co-op), where i mostly sit around and try to look busy. Most of the time, i have simply nothing to do, and if I play another game of Freecell or Hearts, i'll break down in a pile of tears and start whining that my mother never hugged me. I've feel like I've exhausted every avenue of entertainment (allowable at work that is) on the Internet, and even browsing ATOT has been getting really boring (no offense). i can't even talk to my friends on IM, cause the lazy bastards don't wake up until noon and have classes all after that. Lately, I've just been driving home for a good chunk of the day, I'm such a small cog in the corporate wheel that no one ever notices.

So anyway, my boss won't even BE here for the rest of the week, and the work he left me took about 2 hours, so now I'm stuck....
so help me out if you can: i need suggestions to keep me occupied for the next two days (at least). send me web links that I've never seen before (ones that the proxy nazis will let me see anyway) send me links to small downloadable games that will keep me endlessly amused. give me ideas on how to bother my other non-lazy co-workers. In short, entertain me, oh world. thanks for the input.

yeah, unfortunately, there is a good amount of traffic past my desk. on the up side though, i have strategically positioned myself to be able to see anyone heading my way. i get a good 5 seconds to minimize whatever i'm doing....so what do you guys do to stay amused?

You COULD use the time for productive things, such as studying. There are many informative technical documents on the web.

that sounds like the co-op i had last year.

how i dealt:

1) come in 1 1/2 hours late each day
2) take 2-3 hour lunch break
3) leave @ 45 minutes early
4) www.javaarcade.com
5) www.arcadepod.com
6) www.candystand.com <---very good, but i had to use netscape and it always crashed
7) ATOT (not then, but now)
8) you could try to learn something, maybe... check out www.cnet.com

where do you work? and what school do you go to?

from Drexel U?
whats this, your first co-op or something? at least doing nothing is better than copying! ;-)

my first one was with the Navy down in south philly. that taught me a lot of things. especially, never work for government, low pay.

heh heh, i like the way you think kev0ut, but i dunno if even I could get away with 1.5 hours late every day...
its a EE co-op position...don't want to say where (you never know who might be reading these things) but I go to school in upstate NY
sadly, even java applet games may be beyond the ability of this work comp they gave me (P 166, like 200k of RAM or something ridiculous like that). you know it really sucks, when you spend 900$ and two weeks building your dream system and then having to come in every day and use this piece of crap for 9 hours...
