Going from Directv to Dish

I'd like to go from directv to dish for the voom HD channels dish took over when voom went boom. Has anyone in a Dtv 1-year contract ever talked dish into paying off Dtv in going over to dish? Otherwise, I'll wait till Nov06 ofr Dtv to expire.
 
Where is Dish's incentive to pay your Directv contract off? Just signing you up as a new subscriber wouldn't pay well enough to justify them doing it...I think you're stuck till your current contract is up.
 
Dude your post got me thinking. What if cell phone companies paid off your early termination fees for your current carrier as an incentive for you to switch to them instead of a discount on a new phone? That would be awesome.
 
I heard dish was giving away ipods to new customers. I have also heard they, in the past, gave a huge allowance to turn in your old DTV receiver to dish. So I thought hummmmm.
