Do you guys think I can simply uninstall the drivers and pop in my 8800GT when it comes in?

Anyone ever had any issues when doing this?
T'anks.

don't user driver cleaner unless you want to reformat. it is from 2005 and doesn't handle the CCC.
There is a newer version of driver cleaner, with a new name, and it costs money... I also hear people saying good thing about driver sweeper but I never tried it....

I would recommend you follow mustanggt advice... uninstall everything. Turn computer off, remove card, put in new card, turn computer on, install nvidia drivers, restart.

Driver Sweeper works like a charm. I used it when I went from nvidia to AMD/ATI - sure enough it found some files and registry entries even after uninstalling the driver.

don't use driver cleaner, driver sweeper, or driver demolishator unless you're having problems. I recently went from an x1950xt to a 6600gt (for a week) and then to a 3870. other than a failed stick of ram during the 6600gt jaunt I had no probs, but ymmv. mustanggt has the right advice, at least for a first pass imho.
