Meh, mines started checking out at 21. Be glad you had an extra 5+ years. Just hit 25 last month, and I've been shaving it to no guard with a razor weekly (now twice a week) since last November.

It's definately different, you'll be afraid to go outside the first few days, but then you realize how nice it is to not have to worry about your combover. Take that shit-genes!

Dad's bald, thought I'd get lucky - guess not. No one cares that you're bald. I've been looking for people to stare at my head, and haven't noticed it. Most I've gotten is "nice haircut" or "wow, you shaved your head" the first week or two.

As a bald man i say that there is little worse than someone getting all vain over their hair. Buy a set of clippers and thank god that you'll never have to pay money to a barber again.

<-- Going bald (already there?) and doing nothing about it. I'm also too lazy to shave it often, so what I do have gets long sometimes.

No, I don't care, it what's I've been given. If this is the worse "ailment" that I have to live with, so be it.

My hairline is receding.... well it's far from going bald, but it has definitely receded compared to high school (29 now).

This is one of the things modern science hasn't quite figured it out? I say this because plenty of rich celebrities that can't stand being bald but can't do anything about it.
Only thing you can do is to make large sums of money or you can forget about getting laid.

As above - There is Minoxidil and Finasteride.. but... Whatever hair grows back is thin, and goes away almost immediately after you stop treatments.

Besides weaves and toupees, you can have 'Hair Replancement', which means you'll pay someone to remove hair follicles from one area and implant them elsewhere. i.e. - Rearrange what you do have. Figure $10K or more for a reputable place to do a good job.

Or - Cut it very short and stop worrying. Besides - Hats are "In" now. ;)

I worked with a guy who started going bald in his 20's. It bothered him so much he tried the "hair replacement" routine. It was horribly expensive, and apparently, quite painful.
After his first "session," he ended up with lots and lots of tiny holes in his head with 2-3 hairs growing out of them.
The rest of the crew started calling him "Barbie doll head."
He never finished the treatments, saying they were too expensive and too painful, and within a couple of years, most of the transplanted hair had died...and he was balder than before. (normal progression of MPB)

Even if you are not going bald your hairline naturally recedes to a more mature hairline in your 20's.

This, and with castration you are not passing your balding genes down to your kids. If you have a family history of thinning hair, think of your kids and get castrated.

OP - suck it up, take it like a man. If you do not like how your hair looks, shave it off.

Wow, dude....you just castrated his joke....

Have you tried just a buzz cut? Works for me, but I'm bald in the back.

If you have dark hair get a nice sun tan on your head and it won't look so bad.

I thought the German's had come up with a cure for baldness? It was just be tested last I heard.

I shave my head myself once a week down to the scalp. It makes the heat from work so much more bearable.

If you decide to shave it, get a quality Oster Fast Feed or Classic 76 to do it. I started with a POS $20 clipper from crappy tire by Conair, and it is absolute shit compared to my $100 Oster (you lucky Americans can get it from Amazon for $60). Minimal to no hair pulling too!

My problem is I have a small chin, so if I shave all the remaining hair off, I look like a giant thumb :(

You'll be fine as long as you don't paint your forehead red.

OK, I tried it. How does it look?

My mother's side of the family has the balding gene, but somehow I managed to not inherit the trait. At 42, I don't have a receding hairline.
