Going bald = nothing you can do?

My hairline is receding.... well it's far from going bald, but it has definitely receded compared to high school (29 now).

This is one of the things modern science hasn't quite figured it out? I say this because plenty of rich celebrities that can't stand being bald but can't do anything about it.

As above - There is Minoxidil and Finasteride.. but... Whatever hair grows back is thin, and goes away almost immediately after you stop treatments.

Besides weaves and toupees, you can have 'Hair Replancement', which means you'll pay someone to remove hair follicles from one area and implant them elsewhere. i.e. - Rearrange what you do have. Figure $10K or more for a reputable place to do a good job.

Or - Cut it very short and stop worrying. Besides - Hats are "In" now. 😉

I'm in the same boat as you OP, only I'm 22. My hair looks most like patient 1 in that link you gave. I was thinking about shaving it all, but after some photochops I don't think my head is very good for shaving. Not sure what to do yet either.

I don't look good shaved- at all. I look hilarious as a matter of fact.

I do envy those with good 'head shape'.

When I was in my mid 20's or so I noticed my hair just never looked the same as it used to, I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Then I realized that my hairline was receding and spent way too much money trying to stop nature and not being satisfied with the results. When you first realize that you're losing hair, the situation seems a lot worse than it is. Once you get used to the idea of having a shaved head or a different cut, you'll be fine. Right now the idea of a shaved head probably makes you feel as if it looks bad, it's not what you're used to.

Castration has been shown to stop male pattern baldness.

This, and with castration you are not passing your balding genes down to your kids. If you have a family history of thinning hair, think of your kids and get castrated.

OP - suck it up, take it like a man. If you do not like how your hair looks, shave it off.

So you attempted it huh? I have been going bald for a while now... started when I was around 18. It took me 12 more years after that to finally get the nerve to just shave it off. I thought I would look horrible, but it actually worked out well. Maybe even just buzz cut style? Maybe like a matt lauer look lol.

Honestly tho, I tried to fight it but genes will always win.

don't see a lot of young bald asians.
good luck.

Noticed a bald spot when i was 22 or 23. Said F this and went to the barber and told him to shave it all off.
Been going this way for 10+ years now. You don't like the shaved head look because it's different. For best results, shave it down with clippers, then take a razor to it and get it completely smooth. Go out in the sun and get that white ass head of yours some color so it blends with the rest of you.
I also usually keep a beard with a shaved head. It's amazing how many people will steer away from you when walking around because of that look.

Thought baldness was from the mother's side.

My hair is a bit thinner and has receded a bit the last few years. I just get it cut shorter now and it looks fine.

My hair line has receded as well from high school. Though I am not worry about going bald, no one on either of my parents side have been bald and my dad, his dad, and his grandfather all have the same hair line that I have developed. Doesn't matter to me if I did go bald though, I've been shaving my head on the 1st/2nd guard since I was 13.
