Going back to 2k from XP

I have been using XP for a while now and recently it has been giving me all sorts of headaches. My CD-RW drive doesnt work, or it vanishes. So Im fed up and I want to go back to 2k. Can I install 2k from within XP? Can I install it from the command line?

Sadly enough there is no downgrade path other than installing it from scratch. I have
purchased XP and it has been sitting at my desk for the past few weeks. I think I will
personally hold off on that upgrade myself!
