Meh the reason QNIX is so good is not just the price and 1440p, but the PLS panels have amazing color and contrast. I don't think I'd want to ever go back to a TN.

TN is a lot better than it used to be. Just like AMOLED was pretty bad a few years ago compared to LCD; it has now more or less caught up. People's perceptions are slower to catch up.

Sure, TN isn't where IPS is today. But it is a lot better. The new Samsung 4K monitor is a case in point. My 144 Hz 1080p TN panel is pretty decent. I was prepared for the worst when I read the opinions of the Hive Mind, but I spent a good deal of time calibrating the monitor and now it works alright, more than alright. Still not as good as my previous IPS panel but the difference is smaller than it used to be. Color accuracy depends on more than a single variable.

I have to second this. It's[Asus ROG Swift] simply an awesome display. To the people who dismiss it because it's TN, you should know that most TN panels are 6-bit color with dithering, but this one will be true 8-bit color. Will make a rather large difference as far as color accuracy.

And, you'll get G-Sync, which your current graphics card will be able to put to use. With that card, the Swift will be hands-down the best 1440p monitor, since your framerates in the 40-60 range will still look perfectly smooth. No other 1440p display will be able to do that.

Of course, the Swift is also just over double your budget, but this is a display that will last you a very, very, very long time. It could very well be worth it even though it's above your current budget.

You've spoken the truth. Once you go 120 Hz or more, you can't turn your back. It is amazing how smooth gameplay is, and not just very fast games. Even on such mundane things as your desktop, your mouse movement is a lot smoother and faster. Bottomline: everything is affected. And if you game quite a bit, then you'll enjoy it even more. And G-Sync is just a great addition.

There are some overclockable 1440p panels, but the Korean models are often a bit of a hit and miss. Sometimes people overclock and it works great. Sometimes they do it and they get pretty bad artifacts all over the screen.

17 videos and completely dismantling the monitor is not simple to me. Especially when the auction states "In RARE cases the item may have SMALL backlight bleeding" and the seller wont replace.

I agree.. the videos are not done very well, but I appreciate the guy going out of his way to do it. Maybe when things settle down for me I will attempt to fix the BLB and make a video aswell.

Most sellers should state "In rare cases these monitors Do NOT have BLB"

My monitor can hit 120Hz, but after 10 minutes or so I get an artifact line in the center. I am just using the DVI cable that came with the monitor so a better cable may do the trick as the pixel clock is the lowest I can get it. Though I will say, I never saw a big difference going from 96hz to 120Hz.

I got NO problems with my $268 QNIX 2710 Evo II Samsung PLS screen running at 120Hz. BF4 at 2560x1440p & 120Hz is amazingly FAST. You need a Magnifying Glass to see the Pixels and the Colour far exceeds any TN display plus you can view it at any angle and you don't need AA.

I love the QNIX 2710 Evo II with the Matte screen.

Highly recommend GreenSum Seller on eBay if you intend to purchase one of these Displays. He stands by his RMA - I know because the first one I got was damaged in shipment; between GreenSum and DHL all worked out flawlessly.

Paying extra for a Perfect Pixel is a waste of money - Read the Warranty return for Perfect Pixel and you will note what I'm getting at.

As far as I can see you stand approx a 20% chance of getting a Screen with 1 or 2 stuck Pixels and the Perfect Pixel Warranty is WORTHLESS, so why spend more for these Samsung PLS Screens that can run at 120Hz Plus.

My QNIX 2710 Evo II has no Dead or Stuck Pixels and the Back Light Bleed is almost negligible were I don't have to dissemble it and fix it. But it's no big deal to Fix. Enthusiasts of this Display clearly have OnLine Info about everything on this Display - WHY - Because she's a Sweet Heart.

Makes me wonder why Reviews Sites Like AnandTech and TomsHardware ...etc have never written a Review about this $300 2560x1400 Samsung PLS Display.

I generally run it at 96Hz for every day use and crank it to 120Hz for Game Playing. I know others that have crank it up over 134Hz but 120Hz is just fine for me with 290X's at 1250x1500 Mhz under water in X-Fire with an i7 2700K @ 4.8Ghz - What more could a Gamer ask for - Perhaps 2 more QNIX 2710 Evo II's for a 4320 x 2560p 120Hz Samsung PLS Displays with AMD R9's ;o)

Compared to the latest Intel Z97 Chipset, I see no reason to upgrade my ASUS Z68V-Pro Gen 3 /SB i7 2700k/Samsung MV-3V4G3D-US_DDR3 Platform - Yes She's Power Hungry, especially in X-Fire AMD R9's. You need at least an XFX 1050W Pro PSU. For a Single OC'd AMD GPU R9 the XFX 850W BEFX or perhaps a Top lined 750W Seasonic or Corsair PSU will do.

I can't over stress the IMPORTANCE of the Monoprice 24AWG Dual Link DVI-D Cable for these Korean Samsung Dvi-D Displays, if you intend to OC. Suggest you pay extra for the 10 Ft'r as their 1/2" thick don't bend very well with a 6 Ft'r so buy the 10 Ft'r.

I have a 2560x1440 that I paid around 380US for. Its a Yamakasi Q270 model. I'm sure the number of the models have changed the the company still makes them. They are made in Korea but a lot of ppl from the U.S. buy them off of Ebay.

Geez! a nVudia GTX280 will render 120Hz Blue Ray 2560x1440 video and will no doubt collapse Gaming where you need a R9 290.

For an Enthusiast there is not a display on the market that can come close to the QNIX 2710 Evo II Sampsung PLS display for under $300.

Cheapest i could find on ebay was $300 from a Green-Sum seller.Has just the dvi-d connection and has tempered glass. Not sure the difference between the evo 2 and the stand alone 2710led.

wait and go for the Swift when it's released.. 120Hz.. 1440P.. thin bezels.. it will be the best 1440P panel out there despite being TN.. it's idea for gaming..

But it will be $800.

That will be my next upgrade once they drop the price 50%

I bought a pixel perfect X-star DP2710 from Dreamseller, and it's awesome.

Before trying the X-star, I tried and returned eight (8) name brand 1440p monitors (Dell, Asus, Viewsonic), and they ALL had dead pixels and varying degrees of backlight bleed.

The X-star has ZERO dead pixels and among the best backlight evenness of the nine monitors I tried. The only crappy thing about it is the stand, but a $20 purchase from Monoprice can set that right.

You can get an excellent QNIX or X-star if you're lucky. My experience suggests that you have just as good a chance with them as you do buying a brand name display at twice the price.

I expect it'll drop in price eventually (it's VERY clearly having an early-adopter premium), but given the level of interest I've seen in it so far I'm willing to bet a price drop won't happen quickly.
