Going 1440p, need help and suggestions on panels please

🙂 Finally decided I want to upgrade my 24'' tn 1080p panel and grab a bigger panel, while also moving 1440p.

My price range is a max of $350 shipped but can give in to maybe another $10 or so if need be.

A perfect pixel IPS panel, minimal light bleed while including a hdmi port and a dvi dual link cable are the basic requirements but could give up on hdmi in the case of a extremely good non hdmi ported model.

Rig has a i5 2500 non k and a 2gb gtx770, any help and suggestions in this matter would be great.🙂 Thanks anyone who takes the time to read or help.

get a Refurb U2711

Where can you buy a refurb U2711 for $350?

skipsneeky2 I don't think you'll be able to find a pixel perfect 1440p panel for $350. The cheapest I can find is QNIX QX2710 for $400 on newegg, and it lacks HDMI. I don't really see why you need HDMI though?

I got my mine for 350$ before tax back in Nov 2013 from dell outlet. You just have to periodically check slickdeals.net for the deal.

I know ebay has plenty of panels in my price range, but there is so many sellers and different models that it can make your head spin.

I'm pretty sure nothing can beat a Qnix in price. They're not perfect (only DVI-D and some light bleed possible), but for that price - a steal!
Bought one recently and am very satisfied.

Found this seller Dream-Seller and a Qnix QX2710LED

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Perfect-Pix...0459?pt=Computer_Monitors&hash=item338287809b

Quick google search of dream-seller and 1440p brings up a Overclock.net thread with this monitor and a X-Star model. Seems like plenty of people are having minimum problems from this sellers Qnix QX2710LED except some occasional back light bleed and some of their panels are overclocking pretty well.

Not sure if anyone else here has dealt with Dream-Seller and this model before?

The QNIX QX2710LED with the extra HDMI port will NOT over-clock. You need the QNIX QX2510 Evolution II PLS display with the single DVI-D Port for over-clocking plus a good cable like the Monoprice 24AWG Dual Link DVI-D cable for OC'g a 2560x1440 beyond 96 to 120Hz. If you get one - Get the Matte.

They are great 27" Samsung PLS displays for around $300 from South Korea.

Newegg had a deal a few weeks ago on a refurb HP Z27740W. I grabbed one and I love it! 349.99. It has come back a few times since then so you may want to look into that.

Decided the model without the hdmi ports will be what i will go for, overclocking seems like a plus for this model but it isn't something i will be doing anyways.

Thought about having hdmi ports but only cause i originally intended to also hook this monitor up to a roku box to stream hulu and netflix but decided not to.

Keep in mind the model with HDMI/extra inputs also has bad input lag. The model with DVI only has very low input lag and can overclock. If you play shooters at all I'd highly recommend getting the DVI-only one.

FWIW I have had two Perfect Pixel 1440p displays from eBay seller "bigclothcraft" and both were defective. Backlight failure on the left side...first one, they sent me a new circuit board for inside. Didn't fix it. Second one (free replacement w/shipping) had the same problem and I ended up with a refund, but the whole process took months.

I like my DVI only QNIX QX2710LED, but it has BLB pretty much at every corner. I expected it, since these monitors are so cheap. Also two dead pixels, but I don't even notice them anymore since they are towards the edge of the display. This monitor should hold me over until I can get a 4K Free-sync panel from a name brand company. If anyone buys one of these monitors, please don't expect and Apple cinema display...

QNIX pixel perfect = serious back light bleed. These panels are A-. something is wrong with them. If there are no dead pixels your most likely going to get bad back light bleed or serious color problems. I would rather take a couple dead pixels vs the backlight bleed I got on my perfect pixel from greensum (ebay). I even posted videos on YouTube of how bad it is and they still would not replace.

wait and go for the Swift when it's released.. 120Hz.. 1440P.. thin bezels.. it will be the best 1440P panel out there despite being TN.. it's idea for gaming..

Meh the reason QNIX is so good is not just the price and 1440p, but the PLS panels have amazing color and contrast. I don't think I'd want to ever go back to a TN.

I have to second this. It's simply an awesome display. To the people who dismiss it because it's TN, you should know that most TN panels are 6-bit color with dithering, but this one will be true 8-bit color. Will make a rather large difference as far as color accuracy.

And, you'll get G-Sync, which your current graphics card will be able to put to use. With that card, the Swift will be hands-down the best 1440p monitor, since your framerates in the 40-60 range will still look perfectly smooth. No other 1440p display will be able to do that.

Of course, the Swift is also just over double your budget, but this is a display that will last you a very, very, very long time. It could very well be worth it even though it's above your current budget.

Yep, the colour is amazing. Blows my other Asus monitors out of the water. I can definitely deal with the slight yellow bleed in a corner.
