Just saw GOG put these up DRM Free :

Metro: Last Light Redux
Saints Row 2
Saints Row : The Third
Darksiders
Darksiders 2
+ All five releases (and extra DLC package for Darksiders 2) are discounted for one whole week

Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third, Metro: Last Light Redux, Darksiders 1+2.
To break free from your shackles. To take that first free step and breath of fresh air. Oh, the exhilaration of a newfound freedom to be played anywhere, at any time!
It's what we like to imagine today's releases would think if they could think. That's because today we do our part to unchain five major titles (each brilliant in its own way) from every tiniest bit of DRM that they've ever known. That means they're being released completely DRM-free for the very first time, right here on GOG.com.
The five titles unchained today are:
--Metro: Last Light Redux (-50%) - The 2014 remastered re-release of the blockbuster horror/FPS set in post-apocalyptic Moscow.
--Saints Row 2 (-60%) - The surprise cult hit that reinvigorated the open-world action-adventure genre with its unique sprinkle of quirk. Complete with the GOG.com treatment to greatly improve performance on modern PCs.
--Saints Row: The Third (-66%) - Quirk overload. The massively popular open-world action-adventure that flipped a genre on its head.
--Darksiders + Darksiders 2 (Up to 75% off) - Hack and slash done right. Become a horseman of the apocalypse and fight as Death himself.
All five releases (and extra DLC package for Darksiders 2) are discounted for one whole week, that's until Monday, May 18 at 12:59 PM GMT.

Really glad to see GOG adding newer titles to their library.

Wonder why Metro 2033: Redux wasn't included....was it a different publisher?

That'd be my guess. I think all of those now are under Deep Silver, although there is some weirdness (why no Saint's Row 4? did it have something tied to Steam?).

FUN! Another useless online store to add to the diarrhoea mess of all the others with all their clients and DRM and updates. What ever happened to installing and playing a game without all the multiplayer and online trash?

Ironically, DRM-free GOG is about the only one who doesn't need a client or server activation (or enforced updates). You're angry at the wrong people...

Well they did just release their new client to handle updates and downloads (in beta - it's not even basic feature complete, e.g. seems to lack download pausing and speed capping), so there's that to get made about.

Plus the OP doesn't indicate it's DRM free except in the opening line of his post.
And GoG has only been around >6 years.

This post appears to be suffering from extreme confusion.

Galaxy (their client) is totally optional though.

They've had another download manager you could use too, but I've never had a need for it or understood really the purpose unless you have really bad connection.

A new client loudly tagged as beta that's not (nor will ever be) required. Nothing to get "made" about there.

OP indicates it's from gog.com, which has ALWAYS been DRM-free throughout its entire existence. Why are you trying so hard to defend what is obviously simple stupidity and ignorance?

You guys want newer titles and I'm still waiting for SSI Pool of Radiance, Kyrnn games, etc.

But yeah newer games at GoG would be great too.

Keep an eye out.

GOG released their first batch of SSI games last week, so the others should start trickling in.

EDIT:

Actually, I just noticed that GOG Ltd. is the Publisher for a couple of them . . . interesting.

I've got my 5.25" floppies, who needs GoG?

(Not that I have any 5.25" drives around any more, or even any 3.5" . . . .)

.

They bought the full copyright/source code/etc for a couple of games and then published them. There's a thread on their forums about it.

I really like GOG and they get better by the years.

Yesterday I pre-loaded TW3 and tried their Galaxy app after I saw you had to download 8-9 files that weighted 2.4gb each. Works well and I think i'll keep this installed for future downloads.

The old downloader has speed limiting and the ability to pause downloads, so IMO it's better, but I don't know if they support TW3 with it, maybe they don't?

It's great to see formerly steamworks-only games like F.E.A.R 2 and last light on GOG. That means there's hope for games like Mafia II and Skyrim still. Well, probably not Skyrim, because Bethesda seem to be in bed with Valve now, and the Bethesda games that were on GOG were taken down.
I eagerly await more titles on GOG's CD key reclamation page.
