This is disappointing.
Mouse Wars wants huge money for these games despite how old they are. Not only that there are only a few games and there is no collection. Just wait and see how many games end up there and when a sale comes by then just get the whole collection.
$10 is huge money?
Also love the notion that instead of paying $10 for the game he wants now, he'd rather wait for a bundle sale (for argument, say 5 games at 50%) and spend $25 for the game plus others he does not want/ play!
:whiste:
Has anyone tried these? How well do they work now? I loved TIE Fighter, but I just don't know if I could stand the resolution anymore.
So just a quick test,
Xwing 93 - Load and seems ok, slight delay at the beginning during into and stuff, loaded xwing training missing seemed ok
Tie 94 - Loads, but gfx screwed up. you can make it out bit they are all wrong
Xwing/Tie 98 -- cant test as do have gamepad or joystick(at all) handy at the moment
This in Win7 Pro full update, Radeon 7570M, i7-3250m.. Work Laptop
Only wish at the moment is that they also had xwing alliance. Xwing v tie fighter probably won't have multipleyer capability so not a real priority.
Wasn't X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter primarily multiplayer when it was released?
And I agree if they put work into these games to work on Windows 7 and 8 that is worth money for them. But these games are more like worth $5 instead of $10. Both of these games were already on the web for free as abandonware.
Have Star Wars Fan Favorites 1 and 2, Empire at War Gold, and the full KOTOR Collection. However I play games that require CDs less and less so I would like to be able to buy these digitally. The Star Wars Collection on Steam is $100 and at some point it is probably going to go down to $25 when it is on sale. However since it now seems that the X-Wing games are gong to release on GOG I might buy from them instead. But I hope they bring over every game they already have on Steam and sell them as a collection.
Going off memory I can't even recall a single player element to XWvTF, though it may have it. Which I why I though it wasn't with the first release.
So basically, there has been no compatibility work done on these games. Because I get the exact same results using the original discs and the latest version of D-fend Reloaded (DosBox 0.74 included) on my Windows 7 64-bit OS.To quote myself in the other thread, this is just a quick 10min check.
X-Wing Alliance look great!
Might have to fire this one up myself....
