Gog Launcher

Judging from the email I just got, looks like Gog will be publishing their own front end launcher. To some degree I like just being able to go to the website and download what I want when I want it, so we'll have to see how this is an improvementn but hopefully it won't be mandatory.

Think of Galaxy being the revamped GOG downloader tool. I welcome the new tool as I have an insane amount of games purchased from GOG.

I have been using it since early Alpha and it has come along quite a bit. I still feel it could use a little more info in places though.

I myself have 247 games on GoG so it's a very welcome program.

I thought I was special, getting my invite two days ago.

Nope.

The design needs some work.

I'm wondering if it is at all in the realm of possibility to integrate with cloud storage to emulate Steam's cloud save. Or, they could roll their own. I just think integrating would be cheaper, and not add too much extra complexity.

It's weird, I held off of Origin for so long, and still don't have standalone uPlay installed, but gog.com was always a site for which I wanted a client.

I was always under the understanding that GoG Galaxy was to facilitate Online/Multiplayer :

GOG GALAXY

Truly gamer friendly, DRM-free online gaming platform.

GOG GALAXY is a fully optional client to install, play and update your games. It also offers online multiplayer, achievements, chat, game-time tracking and more - but it’s up to you which features you want to use.

Invites went out in batches, I got mine in early March. I do find the game pages in the Library sorely lacking in info, you have to visit the store to see anything.

Cloud saves would be good, hopefully they can work with Google or another service to utilise a service that has already established itself.

Just got my invite and installed it, and beta is beta. It doesn't even have automatic updates yet, but "Achievements", "Game Auto-Updating", "Game Time Tracking", "Friends and Chat", and "Notifications" are all in the settings under "Features (Coming Soon)".

In the meantime it serves as a smoother and more convenient GOG downloader.

So I sent my request last night and they said they would send me the email shortly. Have not received anything at all since then. They even sent me an email much earlier telling me the beta was now available but now that I used the request I get nothing. Did you have to wait a while for them to send the email with the software?
