Goes to Desktop when Running 3DMark2001 SE

I just recently built my system and have been running 3DMark2001 SE to see how I benchmark. I have a concern though that when I run the software right after booting, in the middle of the tests, it will stop and go to the desktop. No error messages or anything else. Also, after playing Half-Life 2 for about 45 minutes the other day, the game froze up and I was only able to get to the desktop by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?
