So the movie is a go and is coming in 2020.

Who do you think will win this one?

Warner Bros. and Legendary are teaming up on a 2020 movie Godzilla vs. Kong, representing the official unification of the two monster franchises.

The companies jointly announced Wednesday that the basis for the film would be an “ecosystem” of giant super-species, both classic and new, as the Monarch organization that uncovered Godzilla in the 2014 film expands its mission in multiple releases.

The first films in the partnership have already been announced: Kong: Skull Island, which opens on March 10, 2017, and Godzilla 2 on June 8, 2018.

The announcement noted that while Legendary maintains its new home at Universal Pictures, the Godzilla films and the Kong origin film will be distributed via Warner Bros. Production on Kong: Skull Island, which had been at Universal until recently, begins Oct. 19.

Why.

Who watches this crap? Kids?

Even the 'good' Godzilla that just came out was terrible.

Everyone who doesn't watch.

There won't possibly be a winner on screen. They have to leave open the chance of a sequel in case people are even dumber in 2020 than they are now and actually make the film a financial success.

They have to either shrink Godzilla or make Kong bigger for it to even be debatable.

Otherwise, it's like an adult stepping on a hamster.

Or there's more than 1 king kong. King Kong + Mutos vs Godzilla

Both King Kong and Godzilla are magical and can be whatever size the filmmakers want him to be. The original Kong was around 20 feet tall and through various films was 50 feet and even 70 feet tall. The original Godzilla was something like 150 feet and grew through the years to more than double that in some films. That kind of thing happens with irradiated monsters.

Don't forget, they've done this before, King Kong fought Godzilla in a Japanese monster movie from the 50s or 60s. Kong was scaled up and Godzilla was scaled down so that they were almost the same size.

Godzilla would need some help, then. He had serious trouble with 2 MUTO's at once. Dominated each of them 1v1. But together, they seemed to be winning.

Another remake? :(

The original Gojira vs. King Kong had two endings. Gojira won in the Japan version and the monkey won the American version.

I'd say Godzilla would win too, because he fights dirty:

Given that the obvious winner should be Godzilla, I wonder if the writers will have King Kong win a second time to not be predictable.
